In 1949, Past President Brother Sydney Butcher wrote this concise history of the Club, following in the tradition of Brother Harry Warden who penned the only recorded previous edition in 1944. Although there probably were many histories written over the past years, none have been preserved, and Club historians have had to rely on the Attendance and Meeting Minute Books for their fountain of information, together with the stream of tales and anecdotes passed down by ‘word of mouth’.
