MEETINGS WITH OUR LADIES
At two meetings in every season, the Brothers of the Bowl are joined by their Ladies – December for the Christmas meeting and in March, which originally was the Ladies Festival, but due to exorbitant costs and lack of support has become a normal meeting but with Ladies present. At these meetings the Toast to Our Guests is changed to “The Ladies”, and the response delivered by The President’s Lady. During the summer recess, a Garden Party is often held with an excellent buffet lunch prepared by the Ladies, and a raffle to raise funds for a deserving charity.
Meetings are arranged and organised by the Club Officers who also take part in the festivities of each meeting, as they have duties to perform in accordance with their position.
They are: Brothers President, Immediate Past President, Vice President and Punchmaster who only take office for one season. The other officers, Brothers Honorary Secretary, Honorary Treasurer, Scribe, Pipemaster, Jester and Master of Music appear to maintain their office for as long as they can be encouraged. The Officers are supported by three Committee Members, from whom the Officers are drawn, and two Trustees. It is anticipated that all Brothers will at some point progress to the President’s chair, should they so wish.
